Martin Zabaleta

Martin was born in the Basque Country and lives in Bozeman, Montana.
He has guided for the last 30 years throughout the Pyrenees, Alps, Andes and Alaska, being our most experienced guide.
Some of his long list of alpine climbs are Eigger north face, Aiguille du Dru and Mont Blanc in the Alps; Huascaran, Alpamayo and Ranrapalca in Peru; and first ascents as Aconcagua’s West Face new variation in the Andes, Nevado Huyuash’s Central Peak in Colombia and Kaga-Tondo-Zuri Tondo and Hombori in Africa.
In Alaska and the Yukon range he climbed Denali’s Cassin ridge and Lucania and Steele mountains.
In the Himalayas, Martin reached the summits of Everest, (first Spaniard ascent), Kanchenjunja’s north face (first successful U.S expedition), Cho Oyu and Ama Dablam via a new route on the south ridge. Other expeditions include Annapurna, Lhotse, Makalu, and two attempts to K2.
